IMERT has been accredited as Commodities Derivatives Trainer (CoT) by Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and as part of it first two “Commodities Derivatives Training” programs were organized at Kolhar, Bhagawatipuram, Ahemadnagar. First program was conducted on 16/03/2019 from 6.00 pm to 08.30 pm. The second program was conducted on 17/03/2019 from 11.00 am to 01.30 pm.
The venue for the program was a convention hall of Bagwatipuram Temple Trust and farmers from both the villages of Kolhar and Bhagawatipuram participated. There were 30 farmers for the first program and more than 40 farmers as participants for the second program. Surpanch of both Gram panchayat graced the occasion and they were felicitated with memento from IMERT. In local language i.e. Marathi, the awareness on commodities markets was conducted for commodities viz. Cotton and Soybean.
The opening brief on functioning of SEBI was provided by Prof. Swapnil Kharde. It was followed by commodities derivative training by Dr. Uttam Sapate, approved Commodities Derivative Trainer.
The participation by the farmers was appreciable and there was interaction and question-answer session at the end of the program. This training program was to inform, educate and create awareness amongst farmers about commodity derivatives markets and was a great knowledge sharing experience.
It was a free program for the participants and all of them were provided with lunch post the training session. This training program was financially supported by SEBI -Investor Protection Fund.
