MM’s IMERT INDUSTRY VISIT TO FLORESSENCE, PIRANGUT

MM’s IMERT had organized industry visit for first year students of MBA on 05-March-2019 to Floressence Company which is situated in Pirangut.
Floressence is basically manufacturer of various deodorants, perfumes. Manufacturing plant which is in pirangut undertakes manufacturing activity of above products along with this they also have packaging department at the same premises in which they prepare different types of packaging material that includes tin cans as well as cardboard packaging for various products.
Since this company manufactures different deodorants, perfumes by using blend of various chemicals, it has batch type of manufacturing processes. Students of first year were exposed to various aspects of batch production and its features with the help of this visit.
Two broadly categorized products are manufactured there i.e., deodorants with gas & deodorants without gas. LPG gas is used to prepare these deodorants with gas. Floressence also takes orders from various other companies to manufacture deodorants as per their customized requirements. Various outsourcing activities are also undertaken by Floressence for preparation of cardboard packaging for other companies as per designs received by them.
Floressence has large customer base outside India such as France, Dubai, Italy etc. Students also got to see various quality management tools such as statistical process control, statistical quality control etc. which is also there in syllabus of Operations and Supply Chain Management. Students were exposed to complete supply chain starting from raw material processing to final packaging of products & dispatch of the products for domestic as well export orders (container stuffing).
